| 8/21/2008 1:27:51 PM - I'm happy to announce that I am working on a new recording for Criss Cross jazz label, which will be released sometime early 2009. It will be featuring one of my favorite musicians, my hero Mulgrew Miller, with whom I've had the previlige the last few years to play and record with in the Dave Holland Sextet. Also featured will be some of my favorite musicians: Seamus Blake, Johnathan Blake, and Boris Kozlov, the latter which whom I have collaborated with back and forth since 1982 from my college years in Moscow, and have for years been playing in the Mingus groups.
There are also some upcoming solo live performances:
June 29 at Club Ikspiari, Japan & July 9 at Body & Soul, Tokyo (with Yoshihisa Suzuki & Masanori Amakura) for a special trio performing the music of Toninho Horta and Milton Nascimento;
July 25-27 at Cachaca, NYC (members TBA);
July 30 & 31 at the Villa Cellimontana Festival in Roma (with Scott Colley, Antonio Sanchez and David Kikoski) which will represent my latest project, "Out of the Circle," which was released by Sunnyside in March '08;
October 1-6 Siberian Tour (with David Kikoski, Gene Jackson, and Boris Kozlov).
We will also begin touring with one of my main sideman projects, the Dave Holland Sextet (featuring Mulgrew Miller, Eric Harland, Robin Eubanks, Antonio Hart and of course Dave Holland) at the end of August through mid-October. Please look at the events page for detailed dates and places.

|  | PRINTS Released May 25, 2007 from Criss Cross Jazz | | Alongside the making of my ArtistShare project OUT OF THE CIRCLE, I also made a recording for Criss Cross Jazz entitled PRINTS. As explained in my blogs, PRINTS is in a way a musical prologue to OUT OF THE CIRCLE. Featuring David Kikoski, Scott Colley, Antonio Sanchez and Chris Potter, you can read the liner notes here on my news page written by John Kelman ("All That Jazz"). And for you OUT OF THE CIRCLE participants, the artwork is pretty much finished up and going to the pressing plant on Monday June 11 (my birthday) so the wait is almost over!
